This website is operated by DB Retailing NI Limited, trading as Emerald Rest. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Emerald Rest.
Emerald Rest offers this website, including all information, tools, products and services available from this site, to you on the condition that you accept these Terms of Service and any additional policies referenced on our website.
Our store is hosted on Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services online. Payment options, finance options, delivery availability and currency may depend on your location and checkout eligibility.
We sell and deliver to customers across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. We do not currently sell to the wider UK through this website unless specifically agreed with us.
1 - Online Store Terms
By using this website or placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the website.
You agree to use our website and products only for lawful purposes. You must not use our website in a way that breaches any applicable laws, interferes with the security or operation of the site, or causes harm to us, our customers or third parties.
Misuse of our website, including attempted fraud, unauthorised access, malicious code, scraping, spam or disruption of our service, is strictly prohibited.
2 - General Conditions
We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel an order or restrict access to our website where we have a valid reason to do so. This may include suspected fraud, misuse of our website, breach of these Terms, incorrect information or circumstances where we cannot safely or lawfully fulfil an order.
You agree not to copy, reproduce, duplicate, sell, resell or exploit any part of our website, products, content, branding, images, service or customer experience without our express written permission.
We may update, suspend or withdraw parts of our website at any time. We will do our best to keep the website available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
3 - Products & Product Information
We make every effort to display our products, images, colours, fabrics, sizes, descriptions and prices as accurately as possible. However, product colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen, lighting and device settings.
Some beds, bases, mattresses, headboards, wall panels and related products may be made to order, produced to selected options, or supplied subject to availability. Product information may change from time to time as our range develops.
It is your responsibility to check that the product, size, colour, fabric, storage option, headboard height or other option selected is suitable for your needs before placing your order. If you are unsure, please contact us before buying.
4 - Prices, Offers & Availability
Product prices, promotions, discounts, delivery options and availability may change without notice. We make reasonable efforts to ensure pricing is accurate, but errors can occasionally occur.
If we discover an error in the price, description, offer, delivery cost or availability of a product you have ordered, we may contact you to explain the issue and give you the option to continue with the corrected details or cancel the order.
Discount codes and offers may be subject to expiry dates, exclusions, minimum spends, product restrictions or other conditions. Unless stated otherwise, discounts cannot be combined.
5 - Orders & Acceptance
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the selected product or products. Your order is accepted when we confirm that it has been accepted or begin processing it.
We may refuse, cancel or amend an order where there is a valid reason, including suspected fraud, stock issues, pricing errors, delivery restrictions, incorrect customer information or inability to safely fulfil the order.
You must ensure all information provided at checkout is accurate, including your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and any delivery notes. We are not responsible for delays or failed deliveries caused by incorrect or incomplete information.
6 - Payment & Finance Options
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available at checkout. These may include debit or credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna, Shop Pay or other payment options supported by Shopify checkout.
Finance or instalment options are provided by third-party payment providers and may be subject to eligibility, approval, location, currency and the provider’s own terms. We do not control whether a finance provider approves or declines your application.
You are responsible for ensuring that any payment or finance option is suitable for you before completing your purchase. Late payment, missed payment or finance agreement issues are handled under the relevant provider’s terms.
7 - Delivery & Risk of Goods
We aim to deliver within the delivery timeframe shown on our website or agreed with you. Our usual delivery timeframe is 7–14 days, but delivery dates and times are estimates unless we specifically confirm otherwise in writing.
Once your order is ready, one of our Emerald Rest team will contact you directly to arrange a suitable delivery date. You’ll receive advance notice where possible, and we’ll confirm the appointment with you before dispatch.
On the day of delivery, you will usually receive a call in the morning with an estimated arrival window. Our drivers may also call approximately 1 hour before they reach your address.
All deliveries include free 2-man doorstep delivery anywhere in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, unless we agree otherwise with you.
Risk in the goods passes to you once the goods have been delivered to the delivery address provided, or where delivery cannot be completed because of your absence, incorrect details, unsafe access or refusal to accept delivery.
8 - Access, Measurements & Room Delivery
It is your responsibility to make sure the items ordered will fit into your home and can pass safely through any access points, including doorways, hallways, staircases, lifts, landings and the intended room.
If you require delivery beyond the doorstep, such as upstairs or into a specific room, this must be agreed with us in advance and may depend on safe access within the property.
If goods cannot be delivered because they do not fit, access is unsafe, access is restricted, or the delivery team cannot reasonably complete the delivery, additional charges may apply. A 50% restocking fee may also apply where the goods do not fit into your home or where you cancel or return the order after delivery or after it has been processed.
Please measure carefully before ordering. If you need advice on product dimensions or access, contact us before placing your order.
9 - Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
You may have the right to cancel eligible online orders within 14 days of delivery, subject to applicable consumer law and the conditions set out in our Returns page.
To be eligible for a change-of-mind return, the product must be unused, in the same condition that you received it, in its original packaging and suitable for resale. You must provide proof of purchase.
Some products may be excluded from change-of-mind returns where permitted by law, including personalised, made-to-order, customised or hygiene-sensitive products, unless they are faulty or not as described.
If you need us to arrange collection of your returned product, a collection fee of £40 / €50 may apply. If you exchange for a different size, style or colour, a redelivery fee of £50 / €75 may apply. Any price difference will either be refunded or charged accordingly.
Refunds will be processed back to your original payment method once the return has been received, inspected and approved.
10 - Assembly & Removal Services
Assembly and removal/recycling services may be available as optional extras, where agreed in advance or available at checkout.
Assembly can be arranged for £60 / €75. Removal and recycling of your old product can be arranged for £40 / €50, where available and agreed in advance.
Items collected for removal or recycling must be in a safe, clean and hygienic condition. We may refuse removal if an item is soiled, unsafe, infested, excessively damaged or otherwise unsuitable for handling.
Once an item has been assembled, we are unable to accept it for a change-of-mind refund. Assembly alters the condition of the product and may make it unsuitable for resale as a new item.
11 - Guarantees & Warranties
Some products are supplied with an Emerald Rest guarantee or manufacturer’s guarantee. The length and terms of any guarantee may vary depending on the product and will be shown on the product page or relevant guarantee information.
Guarantees usually cover genuine manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. They do not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, poor care, incorrect assembly, self-modification, unsuitable bases, commercial use or failure to follow care instructions.
Guarantees are separate from, and do not replace, your statutory consumer rights.
12 - Faulty or Damaged Goods
Please check your items carefully on delivery. Any visible damage or issues should be reported to us within 48 hours, with supporting photos where possible, so we can investigate and resolve the matter quickly.
Signing for delivery may confirm that the goods have been received, so please inspect items before signing whenever possible.
If a product is faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible. We may ask for photos, videos, order details or further information so we can assess the issue and advise on the appropriate solution.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, refund, part refund or another appropriate remedy in line with your statutory rights.
13 - Personal Information
Your submission of personal information through our website is governed by our Privacy Policy. This explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information.
By using our website or placing an order, you acknowledge that we will process your personal information where needed to provide our products and services, process payments, arrange delivery, respond to enquiries and comply with legal obligations.
Please contact us through our official contact page, email address or phone number. This helps us keep all customer communication secure and trackable.
14 - Third-Party Tools & Links
Our website may include links to third-party websites, payment providers, finance providers, review platforms, social media platforms, apps or tools. These are provided for convenience and may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, policies or practices of third-party websites or services.
Where you use third-party payment or finance options, you should review the relevant provider’s own terms before completing your purchase.
15 - Prohibited Uses
You must not use our website or services for any unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or harmful purpose. This includes:
- Fraudulent transactions or attempted chargeback abuse.
- Uploading malicious code, viruses or harmful files.
- Attempting to access systems or customer information without permission.
- Scraping, copying or reproducing our website content without permission.
- Interfering with the security, operation or performance of our website.
- Using our website to infringe intellectual property rights or the rights of others.
We may suspend access, cancel orders or report misuse to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
16 - Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any statutory rights that cannot be excluded.
Subject to this, we are not responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable, business losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or losses caused by your failure to follow these Terms or provide accurate information.
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, transport disruption, supplier delays, strikes, accidents, system outages or other circumstances outside our control.
17 - Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, as DB Retailing NI Limited is based in Northern Ireland.
If you are a consumer in the Republic of Ireland, you may also have mandatory consumer rights under Irish and EU consumer law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or reduce any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue quickly and fairly.
18 - Changes to These Terms
We may update or replace these Terms from time to time by posting the latest version on this page.
It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for updates. Your continued use of the website after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
